BINGO

Here's a simple support for BINGO song, it can sometimes be hard for children to remember how many claps/ letters this supports them in knowing. Also supports recognition of letters.

This could be done with children's names

Collection of Ducks

Planning for children's interests doesn't always mean activities but the resources you provide to support play, and other areas of learning through a play based situation. This area was set up to encourage speech sounds/ symbolic sounds of a child with limited speech. He had shown an interest in ducks and liked some simple songs.
All children enjoyed this and the ducks were displayed alongside in baskets, daily it would get back to this. There was exploring, sorting, some duck sounds made by said child LOTS made by everyone else.
Suplemental materials include books e.g. nine ducks nine and song card.

Parachute Play

I love playing with the parachute with young children, and have found it a great way to focus children's singing. I have compiled a collection of song based activities I have used, mostly with very young children with Special needs but will be useful for most preschool groups (Or homes with a child's blanket). I have uploaded to Scribd and it can be purchased for a very reasonable price

On our Snow Shelf

Snow Men Song and Little Robin Red Vest Story

Little Robin Red Vest is a beautiful book about a little robin who shows true kindness giving away all his vests to the animals in need. The tray has laminated vests and each of the animals, they can be velcroed and off of robin onto the other animals to tell the story. Listen to the story told by Emilia Fox
Five little snowmen rhyme props, made of socks!

The Owl and the Pussy Cat

We all know the rhyme, and after seeing brilliant toilet roll owls at Creative Jewish Mom's blog I thought cats would also work so had a quick sketch and made a cat. Thought an owl on the other side would be fun to just try and then thought.... oh The Owl and the Pussy Cat...

Five Little Monkeys

I have had these resources for some time, and related resources have been available at www.alljoinin.net for sometime, I just thought I'd take this opportunity to show you (need a quick post, been too busy making something/ watching Children in Need). The resources are things I have available for singing the song, but are also what I used to make the resources. There is a printable book, and an interactive powerpoint. Some example power point slides are below:

Song Words for Song Box

A few days ago I added a post about my song box, I have now seen that it has quite a few pins and repins on Pinterest. I have noted a few people say they don't know the words to all the songs/ rhymes, so here are all the lyrics!

Song Box

Just a simple shoe box with paper/card/ funky foam stuck to the top/ sides to create song environments: Pond, log, wall. Each song has a laminated piece or pieces as visuals for the song, and are either attached to a lolly pop stick or a peg dependent on whether it attaches to edge of box or poked into top.
Five green bottles
Row, row, row the boat (I had a crocodile peg but not sure where that is)
Humpty Dumpty
Two little Dicky Birds
1,2,3,4,5 Once I caught a fish alive
Five Little Speckled Frogs
Five Little Ducks
And then they all the pieces can all be put back inside the box. Great for children with Autism to access singing.

five little men in a flying saucer

Five little men in a flying saucer, rhyme tray. Felt pieces and talking point buttons.
I printed the elements on t-shirt transfer paper, ironed it onto white felt then cut out. The window on the flying saucer I cut out prior to ironing on, so that it would be "felt" rather than the shiny plasticy feel that the little men wouldn't grip on.
Talking point buttons have each verse of the song on. Each button has the corresponding amount of stars on e.g. five little men: five stars.

And these little men, actually went to live on earth.

Download pictures for this @ alljoinin.net I shrank mine to A5

Five Little Ducks Basket

Song/ poem baskets/ boxes go down most wonderfully, perhaps their size appeals to little hands and inquisitiveness. The basket contained, the felt pond, funky foam duck stickers and song card (below printed to 1/4 A4 size)These baskets seem to encourage independent singing and song play like no other resource.

Row Row Row Your Boat

That classic children's song/rhyme Row Row Row Your Boat, has a few verses added by creative persons along the way no doubt but most people stick to merrily rowing and screaming at crocs. So I've collected them together (If you want it in pdf/ ppt. let me know and i'll mail it until I get my website sorted) including some lovely Christian verses that would most defiantly complement a few Bible stories (including Paul at Sea)
